WOOHOO!!!!! that is awesome!!!!! nothing wrong with missing a little holiday action -- i had mine the day before thanksgiving -- meant i didn't have to cook dinner!! now you don't have to pass out all the candy to the little boogers!!
walking helps -- i know i know i know -- we all say it -- but it is so true -- get up and walk as soon as you can after surgery -- and put some powder in those leg pumps!!
don't worry and get yourself all in an uproar cuz you can't get in your protein or your water -- you will in time -- it is still major surgery and no one expects you to be drinking 64oz of water the next day -- take your time and ease into everything -- the protein isn't as bad as people say -- i have no problem drinking it at all -- i buy the ready to drink -- and like i've said a million times -- i drink protein because i do not eat breakfast and i lose alot of protein by NOT eating breakfast -- ross eats all his protein in food -- it's not hard
never compare yourself to anyone else here -- never ever ever!!! it will drive you batty!!\
don't get on the scale every 10 minutes -- it will become your enemy!!
muscle weighs more than fat --when you start losing the weight and the fat is gone and it's only muscle -- it will weigh more
you will be fine :) you talk to people :) you get answers :) stay positive!! you will need a great sense of humor -- especially when that skin sags hahahaha what boobs hahahaha is that my butt skin or my thigh skin hanging around my knees hahaha gotta keep laughing !!
good luck :)
roberta
and walk walk walk sip sip sip SLOWLY -- REAL SLOW!! walk fast sip slow -- just get out of that bed asap

Roberta,
As always, wonderful advice. So thankful I have you on this board.
And yes...I know I need to walk...and you know what? I will probably need that reminder time and time again. Memorizing mantras and actually following them are a little different - and I'm one who needs encouragement from time to time.
The scale is already my enemy - and I plan to have hubby take it somewhere when I'm in surgery so I CAN"T weight myself until my two week appointment. It will only help me in the long run, I'm sure. And then maybe I can have him bring it out once a week or once every two weeks or something.
Comparing myself will prove to be difficult - I know my personality - I want to be like "everyone else" but you know what - NOBODY is "everyone else" regarding this surgery - I've already realized that by seeing everyone's different losses.
Walk fast, sip slow. I got it (I think)
