I have some protein powders I'm happy with now...but I am a bit nervous that my tastes will change since I keep hearing about that happening.  I think I'll go ahead and order a bunch of samples just in case...and they'll be a nice change of pace!  Great idea!  Thanks! Hi Heather, My dr did not require any special diets pre-op, but I did have to do a 6 month dr supervised weight loss program before I was approved.  I lost 35 lbs from that, but between the end of the 6 months and day of surgery I had gained 9 lbs.  I know most of was last meals, last snack's, last drinks, last everything's...and I cannot even remember now what they were!  But my surgeon was happy because I was down 26 lbs still from my inital consultation.  I ate "normally" right up until the day of surgery. Ordering the protein samples is the way to go.  For me, nothing tasted right or good in the first few weeks post op, so it is good to have choices! Jenn
