Thyroid Update

Well, I went for my 2 week blood work on Thursday morning for my thyroid level.  I was expecting it to come down a little bit, my doctor had forwarned me that a lot of people need their dosages upped after the first round because it doesn't always work. Well, IT WORKED.  My throid level is now within normal levels.  That also means I am now cleared for surgery, yet AGAIN.  I called Barix yesterday and will fax them everything when I go to work today.  They should receive it on Monday as I don't think the people who need to see it work weekends.  They told me that I will be hearing from them when "something opens up"  I'm sure that will take quite a while...but oh well. Just thought I would share Pam

Excellent! Hang in there...it'll be here before you know it. I still can't believe I'm sitting on the losers bench. I don't feel like a loser yet but I guess I am! Good luck with your date and I'll keep you in my prayers.                                                       Hugs, Judy

Hi,

Don't forget to get your levels rechecked every 6-8 weeks to make sure your TSH doesn't start to climb again- especially it could stall you postop weight loss wise and slow your progress.

You see you adjust the dose- the thyroid responds...but then it seems to adjust and you might need a new adjustment dow nthe road. Mary Schomon has an excellant thyroid web site on about.com Good luck, Bernadette

Yep, my doc will send me periodically for blood work so I can keep my levels in check, thanks for the info! Pam
