for everyone who says "i don't like the protein shakes" "the protein makes me sick" "i can't find a shake i like" the answer is ....you do not have to drink protein -- when you start to eat 'real' foods again you should be getting ALL your protein from food -- not suppliments -- yes i drink the shakes -- i do not eat breakfast -- so i use it as a suppliment -- but this is not all my protein or even half my protein -- this is only my breakfast -- and that doesn't justify my eating habits -- it's just me  so here is a list of high protein foods -- and CHEW CHEW CHEW your food until it is like applesauce in your mouth and you should never have a problem -- it's not the food itself that will make you sick -- it's the way you eat it that will make you sick

It does, thanks.  I can keep it right next to me in the kitchen and just glance over to see what my protein intake is instead of running to the computer so often.

Hugs, Connie

Great list Roberta! I'm a vegetarian and I can usually get all of my protein from food. When I can't, then I supplement with a shake or a bullet.

Roberta, Do you mind if I repost this on the main RNY board?  Somebody was asking what kind of values different things have, and I thought this would be a great list to share. Thanks, Pam
