a job interview

so yesterday i'm sitting in a job interview -- talking about my last job and why i'm looking at a different career choice now -- i used to work with ppl with autism/MR -- behavioral ppl -- daily physical restraints -- getting kicked, punched, my hair pulled out, my shirt ripped off, scratched, spit at -- you name it -- i'm tired -- i'm getting old -- and i just can't 'throw my weight into it' anymore -- and i always loved my job -- but now i'm looking at an office job -- and the lady's husband works with developmental disorders and behaviors and abused children and he does restraints -- so she understands what i'm talking about -- then her comment came

i can see what you mean when someone who is as small framed as you are and trying to do that work

small framed??? are you talking to me????? are you for real??? look at me! i'm not small framed!

but i have to look at me --and yes, i can be considered small framed now -- WOW -- reality hits -- i'm sure it will be short lived -- i dont' consider myself small -- but reality says i am -- hopefully the head will catch up to body soon

when does soon come?? when does the head catch up?? does it ever?? i guess i'm "mentally fat" -- do they have pills for that???

Now Roberta, you know that there are happy pills that you can take and you can be anything that you want.  Pill  I have some NJ job info for you but I left it in my training binder and that went back to my office.  I will be with it on Monday and I will forward you the info in a PM.  Good luck with this job interview.  I hope you  get it.

Roberta, That is one of the best moments I've heard thus far!  Congrats!!!  And no, sadly enough, there are not pills to make you think that way - except of course for the happy ones mentioned above.  They can be gotten at any shady corner in the middle of the night ;-)  Just kidding!!! You will get there -when nobody knows - but you will.   ;-) Have a happy day! Pam

hi jacki i am taking full advantage of the "one stop career centers" otherwise known as the good old unemployment office haha i'm taking all their assessment tests and going to all their classes on how to do this or that -- i have found many great resources there -- the position that i applied for and have been interviewing for was posted at the unemployment office -- so far i've had the 'apply online and post your resume' 'go to the open house and apply and drop off your resume' 'take the test and have an interview' 'go back for another interview with 2 different people' and now i'm waiting for a call back for ANOTHER interview!! my goodness!! but in the meantime i am applying for the $4,000 grant from the state to take some classes -- maybe xray tech (which also includes MRI, Sonogram, EKG, EEG, CT Scan and all the others) or medical billing -- and if i get accepted i'm planning on attending classes at night so that i can find a job during the day still -- but we will see what happens -- i believe that something good will happen no matter what -- so when you are in a position that  you have to start searching again, use the unemployment office to your advantage :)  take care there bony  love ya smalled framed
