hi guys i have noticed that right after i eat something i get tired -- like 'put your butt on the couch and lay down' tired -- anyone else go thru this? then i think that maybe it's cuz i'm not working right now and i'm just bored -- but it seems to happen right after i eat -- my meals consist of protein and no carbs -- tonight dinner was roast beef -- yesterdays lunch was tuna with onions and mayo -- no bread, no rice, no pasta, no potato -- just meat -- and i feel like i'm dragging ass right now and it's only 5pm  i'm open to any and all suggestions  thanks roberta

That does happen to me!  It tends to happen if I overeat, or if I eat a meal higher in carbs than I usually eat.  Very weird!  It will usually pass within an hour or so.

Fight and Flight/Rest and Digest.....it's the way our bodies were made ions ago. When you are faced with a conflict, pulse and BP raises, epinepherine is released, muscles tense. After eating...your body believes it is "safe" and wants time to break everything down.  It doesn't want you doing a whole lot, just wants to concentrate on letting it absorb the food.  I would try NOT to get in the habit of taking naps or anything, as that can cause weight GAIN...but do take it easy.  You may want to force yourself to go for a brief, SLOW walk...just kinda strolling.  It' enough resting to get your body to digest, but also allows you to wake yourself up a little bit. Good luck! Pam
