PENNSYLVANIA PILGRIMAGE

Hello All.  Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Andy Kovatch and I had gastric bypass surgery on March 1, 2006 with Dr. Marymor at Barix Clinics in Langhorne, PA.  I currently run a couple of support groups for Barix in my area.  I am posting this message to both inform and invite all of you to our upcoming Pennsylvania Pilgrimage, scheduled for October 5, 6 and 7 in Chambersburg, PA.  I apologize for such a late notice, as I really didn't think to post  this on the New Jersey board until now.  I've been so busy with the planning of the event that I was stuck on promoting it in Pennsylvania.  However, after a few responses from residents of the Garden State I realized people from outside PA were interested.  I think the reason may be because of weight loss surgery patients' interest in Obesity Help's events, but being so far away most of the time, are unable to attend them.  The Pennsylvania Pilgrimage was originated a couple of years ago as a way to get away for a weekend with emphasis on wls education and fellowship.  The original pilgrimage consisted of just 8 people and they all said it was a weekend they'd never forget.  Well, our latest Pilgrimage saw upwards of 50 weight loss surgery patients get together and the pilgrimage was hilighted by a special appearance from Dr. Alan Brader, a gastric bypass surgeon from Barix Clinics.  The weekend is for both pre and post op patients.  It's a weekend filled with support groups, guest speakers, time at the World Famous Apple Harvest Festival and a whole lot more.  The event kicks off Friday night, October 5 with a Social Meet and Greet.  The best part of this whole event is the price - FREE!!!  The only cost to you is the price of the hotel room, which I was able to reserve a block of for just $55 a night.  We're staying at the Quality Inn in Chambersburg (1-717-263-3400), which is where the PA Pilgrimage is held at.  Just mention you're with the Pennsylvania Pilgrimage when making your reservation to get the low room rate and then, if you would, send me either a personal message or email ([email protected]) to let me know as I'm keeping tabs on a head count.  But act quickly, as the deadline for registration is next Friday, September 28 and the block of rooms are selling fast!!!
