need to let loose some tears.
hi vicki
sorry about the set back -- that sux since you asked about it and was told no --what a punch in the stomach that was!!
but remember that this is time to educate yourself -- don't be afraid to use your own PCP -- all they need is monthly weigh in's and notes that you went every month
good luck and take care

Vicki:
As fabulous as I am sure Barix is, they are *not* your insurance carrier. You need to contact your insuror *DIRECTLY* and get a copy of your policy and their requirements in writing.
EVERYONE should do this - do *not* rely on your surgeon - it's really not their job and not their line of expertise. There are so many variables it would be impossible for every office to know the nuances of every policy.
Hang in there - where will you be in 6 months if you *don't* do this? :)

good luck vicki!! it will be over before you know it!!

Thanks everyone!
Had my first of 6 doctors appointments for the supervised diet yesterday. More blood work is ordered. My thyroid is back out a whack, I have to get a blood test for that and a scan of my thyroid. I also need to go and get YET ANOTHER diabetes test, man I hate drinking that stuff, but its worth it in the long run I guess. Plus they want a bunch of other blood work chlosteral ect ect.
I am doing better mentally this week too. Well, gotta go clean up my husband's bday dinner. Thanks again everyone!
Hi Vicki,
What ever you do, don't give up. That is what the insurance carriers want you to do so that they don't have to pay for this procedure. Just be persistent and have patience. Do what is required and take notes of names of every person you have spoken to. Time will go by fast and hopefully this is the last requirement needed for your approval.
