I just got a call from Barix, Pa and was told that now I need a 6 month weight loss diet thing. I asked back in March if I would need one of these I was told...NO....I could be almost done with it by now.

It seems like everything is working against me. I am so miserable right now. So after I do this 6 month process it will be March, AGAIN....a full year after my initial consultation in PA. I am sorry I am venting I am just soo upset right now.

Vicki~ I am sorry about the disappointment, I know exactly how you are feeling.  I can tell you though, the surgery is worth the wait. I live in Brick also.  My primary care physician is Dr. Vincent DiStasio, he is in Silverton.  Actually, the Silverton section of Toms River I guess it is.  He is wonderful! Good luck with the process, it will be worth the wait.  Losing a little weight right now will make the surgery easier for you and the surgeon when the time comes.

Vicki, You have a right to be upset.  It's so frustrating to have these delays.   What insurance do you have?  Do you have to use Barix or can you go directly to a surgeon you chose?      I know it sounds trite, but....  these things have a way of working out.  Look at  the info under my pic.  I joined when I was pre-surgery, and wound up not having surgery for over 2 years due to insurance issues.    It's annoying, but, by the time surgery rolled around,  I was SO well informed and educated!        Good Luck,  Mary C

I agree with Mary C.  Things happen for a reason.  I ended up waiting longer than I thought I would but I am also glad that I could not have surgery when I originally wanted to.  I am so much better informed and know fully what I am getting into. Look at the additional time as a chance to learn more and more.  Good luck.

Hang in there Vicki! I started over 1 1/2 years ago and I'm still trying to get past insurance too.  I'm working on a 6 month plan now too. From what all the TERRIFIC people here have shared is that it is worth the wait!  I'm trying to lose on my own until then - heck - at the rate the insurance works I may get to my goal before they get my insurance approved!  LOL   **HUGS**
