Ellen's Surgery Yesterday

For those of you who were at August's Toms River OCLWS Meeting, you met our own Southern Belle, Joyce's sister, Ellen, who had traveled up to NJ from Florida to have surgery here with Dr. Brolin and was going thru the hurdles that Medicare was demanding for coverage. I wanted to let you know that Ellen had her surgery yesterday morning.  Because of her size and existing scar tissue, the surgery ended up taking over three hours, and she ended up with seven lap incisiions, but all has gone well and she has joined us on the "losing side." This is the second sister that Joyce has brought to NJ and helped to obtain WLS surgery.  Her sister Bev is enjoying her new thinner life these days and is over a year post-op, and now it is Ellen's turn. Joyce wanted me to pass on her thanks for all your support, love and prayers.  She and Ellen hope to join us at the next Toms River OCWLS Meeting. Hugs, Nannette
