Lap Band on 10/02/07 with
Laureen, I am having laprascopic lap band.  I just heard from the doctor's assistant and they will be repairing my hernia while they are in doing the lap band.  I was really relieved to hear that.  Funny, I thought my symptoms were normal.  I never would have known there was a hernia had it not been for this surgery. Lori, Trust me, over time you would have known it. . .  I've had one for over 20 years and it only gets worse over time. . .  but that's great news! Best wishes on your surgery and journey to a healthier and more beautiful you!

I have a hiatal hernia also and didnt kno it till I had my tests! I was actual relieved to find out that they can do both surgeries at the same time. I just completed all my testing and gave my program fee. I am hoping to be approved soon and get on with my new life. Good luck to all!!

30% of the population is born with it and it is common to be repaired as part of the surgery, as a secondary procedure, and the fee schedule is nice for the doctor too.
