most insurance companies -- if you do what they say to do -- the dr supervised diet -- whatever -- if you do what they say then you shouldn't have any problem at all -- as long as you meet all of their guidelines  good luck to you roberta

hi my husband and i both had open RNY -- everything went according to the text book :) neither one of us had a problem at all -- and now i can walk faster than him haha and our scars are nothing -- mine is a little pencil line about 4 inches long -- nothing to it :) would do it all again in a heartbeat!! we were both in the hospital for 2.5 days and i was back to work in 17 days - ross took advantage of being home and stayed home for the 6 weeks  good luck to you :)  Roberta

'the procedure'?   Are you looking at a lap-band, a RNY,  A Vertical Gastrectomy, or a Duodenal Switch?    Different surgeries have different insurance challenges.    Good luck with your search!   Mary C
