I Finally got my approval

Well.. It seems like it took forever but I finally got my approval from the insurance company. I have Horizon BCBS.. I actually went to the surgeon almost 5 weeks ago and it was supposed to have been submitted then. I have been calling (and being a pest..lol) but there was never an answer. Finally today Dr JB's office called and said they approved me. I don't actually think the paperwork was sent out until last week but still, who cares..lol... Im was starting to freak out that they would deny me... So as of now (barring any complications) I am scheduled for September 12th.. So now, the journey begins.. I am soo excited..lol... Thanks for listening...

Lisa, best of luck with your surgery.I too have Horizon Blue Cross of NJ.I did all I was asked to and now they want proof I did  a 6 month supervised diet within the last 2 years.I see my doc in 2 weeks and hope she can give me what I'll need to get approved.I can't wait.Congratulations!

Congradulation!!! I also have Horizion Blue Cross Blue Shield NJ Plus. And am i the process of getting a revision. My doctor just told me that Horizion wants 5yr Obesity. I haven't been obese again for 5yrs due to the fact that I lost weight when my RNY was working right. I hope this is not the case with mu insurance I can't live like this for 3 more years. i have bcbs of nj too....a hmo...in fact i work for them.......i wrote a letter for preapproval to add to my weight history because it is so scattered i think tht i have four......three frm 2000's and two from late 1990's....do u think tht they are going to put me on the six month supervised diet too?

Im not sure what they will do. I know that I didnt have all of my weight. I have weights from 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006. my job gave you a physical basically every year or 2 so thats the only weights i have. But it seemed to be enough.. But I would think if you had weights from the 90's and then 2000's and then now it should be enough to prove you have been overweight for at least that long.. Good luck...
