hi there and welcome aboard!!  do everything that the insurance company says to do -- if they say to bite your fingernails then bite them :) if they get every little thing they asked for then approval should be a breeze and not take too long -- probably 2-4 weeks  after that -- do exactly what your surgeon says :) his office is going to be your best friend!!  do not stock up on stuff that you will never use -- you do not need 286 cans of chicken or beef broth -- you do not need 58 packets of sugar free jello -- you will be out walking and driving in a couple of days --as long as you are not taking any pain pills you can drive -- and walking will be the best thing for you -- i walked around every store i could find :) it was exercise and i wasn't bored  ask your nutirionist or surgeon what vitamins you will need post op -- and how many mg and mcg's of each vitamin -- write this down and keep it in your wallet -- it is so easy to forget what mg's and mcg's you need once you are standing in the store  do not buy a bunch of protein shakes or mixes -- you may not like the taste or how it sits in your stomach -- try to get samples -- GNC gave me samples when i went in there  treat yourself before surgery -- buy a new bathrobe and slippers for the hospital :) it will make you feel better  don't stress!!!!! why get your blood pressure in an uproar?? relax -- if you do what you are told to do then you will be approved -- if you do what you are told to do then you will lose the weight -- if you are stressed and uptight then the only thing that will happen is grey hair!! and who needs that!! good luck to you :) if you have any questions at all just shout out to us and you will get a variety of answers  take care roberta

Hi, I also had BCBS HMO and was approved with 48 hours after my paperwork was submitted.  Dr. JB's office is fantastic, words can't explain how I feel about them.  Best of luck to you.
