Soooooo Frustrating!

Arghhhhh  I don't know which is worse - insurance co mpanies or getting primary doctors to cooperate!   My insurance was submitted & was told more information was needed.  The doctor's staff told my primary what was needed in the letter and  I waited 3 weeks for a letter from my primary.  When I got it I told them he needed to put details in it - he said he did exactly what the office staff told him to put in it. Well, the office staff is now totally different (the doctor moved to a new location) and, just as I told my primary, we need more details in the letter. Sooooo I'm back to waiting - AGAIN.   I KNOW this will be worth it in the end but it can be really frustrating & depressing! Thanks for listening!

yup -- what vicki said -- keep your head up -- don't cave in -- everything will fall into place for you -- my husband had a nice smooth ride with PCP and approval and had his surgery in no time-- i had to do the 6 month diet -- was anemic -- was on chemo before and during my approval process -- but everything falls into place --you'll see -- everything happens for a reason good luck to you :) we are all cheering you on here!! If you don't mind me asking, what kind of idetails does your primary doctor have to submit. I just went to my primary today for a medical clearance and, after reviewing all the lab work requested from my surgeon, he was satisfied with the results and gave me the clearance. I thought he was going to write a letter, but all he did was scribble something on the prescription paper. I took that to the surgeon's office, and when I pointed it out to the office manager, she told me it didn't matter, as long as it was a medical clearance. As of right now, all I'm waiting for is my sleep test results and seeing the pulmonologist again on the 24th of August. Don't despair. I was doing what you're doing, and all I was doing was aggravating myself. Be patient. Nereida

Thanks all - I know you are right - guess I was just having a bad moment.  I think I just needed to vent to people that would understand!  thanks. Getsemani -  Every insurance company is different.  Unfortunately, mine is Cigna and they are known for being tough.  In my case, I need that 6 months of details which is what is causing my problem.  My primary should have all that information but it's got to be included in the letters. Good Luck!

Ms. Vic: The waiting part is the hardest and I do sympathize with you about office staffs.  I have a great relationship with my PCP and his staff.  He told me to write my own letter and then handed me my chart and told me to pull out what I wanted and have the staff copy it.  Sometimes I wonder???????? Hang in there.  Your day will come.
