Insurance companies take forever, just be patient and it will all work out in the end :-) I was so stressed out at first but it all worked out, it took me about 5 months, but I didn't have to go thru as many tests as the RYN pocedure. I started in Feb and had my surgery in July of last year. Keep up on the doctors and insurance company and you will do just fine.  This site is very helpful. Good Luck. Michelle

I've been very lucky, my insurance approval came back in just under 48 hours, I have been moving along extremely fast.  What surgeons are you considering?  You should also go on the Lap Band board there is so much information available there on the Lap Band and the people on all of these boards are just great!   Best of luck to you and your sister.  Jackie

So, you had your surgery already??  About how long from start to finish were you waiting?? At the seminar last night, I was reassured of the safety of the band surgery and felt so comfortable with the group.  I have Oxford and when I asked about that particular insurance, he told me that I could have the surgery like yesterday!  I was so excited, I want to keep up my enthususiam (sp?) so that when the day comes, I don't have a breakdown!!  I am considering Drs,. Davis and Bessler from Valley Obesity Center in Ridgewood, NJ...I heard great things about them from several patients...where did you have your band?? Thanks for the luck!!!
