Had my consult today!

So..here I am..not knew to OH, but always a lurker.  Today was my surgical consult.  I met with Dr. Earl Noyan.  I really liked him.  I have to go for a psych eval, sleep study and nutritional counseling.  So far 2/3 are scheduled for August 6th..I also need to attend 1 support group meeting (the next one is August 23) and get a letter from my primary (already done)..so now I wait for my appointments. I have NJ Plus BC/BS Horizon...I sure hope they approve me...IF they do and all of my tests work out ok..then Dr. Noyan says he is scheduling about 4 weeks out..so....I'm guessing that might be as early as the end of Sept/early Oct...my 41st bday is October 8th..wouldn't that be a great bday present to me???? I just wanted to introduce myself and get to know all of you...thanks, in advance, for your support! Sue.

Hi Sue, I just wanted you to know that I have Horizon BCBS NJ HMO and once my paperwork was submitted I had an answer in less then 48 hours.  I am scheduled for LapBand surgery on Aug. 6th.  Which surgery are you having?  Well, Congratulations and best of luck to you. Jackie

Thank you for letting me know that!  My concern is that my BMI is 39 (I do have several co-morbidities, though)...I plan on having the bypass...hopefully! I'll be keeping you in thoughts and prayer as your surgery approaches!

hello there and welcome aboard my husband has BC/BS Horizon of NJ and his approval came in 2 weeks -- that was over a year ago -- the only thing they required of him at that time was a 3 month dr supervised diet  good luck roberta
