I was wondering if anyone had surgery at St. Clairs in Dover? My family has always had things done at Morristown and really want the surgery there.  I was just wondering if St. Clairs is just as nice as Morristown. Michelle

I was debating this and my friend who is a cardiac tech said Morristown was a better choice.  St. Clair's Denville is very nice but I have never been to the Dover campus.

I think that is why I am going to wait for a date in Morristown.  Maybe we will be having sugery around the same date.  How funny would that be?

That would be funny!  I requested September 10th but I doubt they will be able to do the RNY so soon after my hernia repair.  They said six weeks - which is September 10th but who knows.  Right now I am just hoping the hernia repair gets done when it is supposed to.  What did you think of Dr. Bertha?  Did you have to wait very long?

Can't they do the surgery together?  Hopefully you will have the sugery on the 10th.   I liked Dr. Bertha, he took his time with me and answered all my questions.  I am just waiting on the sugery date.  I hope my insurance approves the surgery.  I only waited about 10 min, which was not that bad.

That is not bad.  When I had my appointment I waited at least an hour.  He told me at the time I may have to have two surgeries or an open where he could do both.  He decided to do two operations and since he is the doctor I trust his judgment.  I hope I can have the RNY on the 10th but I am prepared for it not to be then.  Good luck with your insurance!  I hope you get approved.

I wasn't sure were to go because I'm not from the area but I did have my surgery up there with dr pupkova when she was with berthas office.  I chose Morristown because they have a trauma center and god forbid - I wanted to be in the right place not having to be transported. My surgey went as planned - zero complications, and I'm at my personal goal weight at was B4 I was 1 year post op best of luck

Morristown is a nice hospital.  I am glad your surgery went well.  I talked to Dr. Bertha's office today and was relieved I don't have to do a bowel prep for my hernia surgery.  I was dreading doing that twice more than anything else.

That is why I wanted to go to Morristown as well.  Knowing that it has a Trauma center will make me happy but I am have a difficalt time getting a date for Sept at Morristown. Congrats on your weight loss.

morristown is Atlantic health system, st clair is not,  morristown is in network for Aetna, st clair is not,  Morristown is a cardiac certified hospital, st clair is not.   need I continue, But, for my heart surgery, I had to go to NYU for a proceedure that they havent learned yet in Moristown, or and for my wls I will also have to go to NY for a DS per the doctors mections here as I cannot have a rny, and it is not offered in NJ. d
