I HAVE A DATE!!

I'm so excited I received my call at 8:30 this morning, I have a date August 6th...  I could have had it on the 1st but my sister is getting married on the 4th so I am going to wait until the 6th...  I can't believe how fast this has gone.  My doctors office if fantastic they submitted my paperwork on Monday and I already have my answer today.  Jackie

Hi Jackie, Congratulations on your date! I have a question for you.  I noticed in an earlier post you mentioned that Dr. J-B was charging a $1850 fee. Do you know what that fee is for?  I have a consult with him on Aug 7th. I will be a self pay and have already done all the testing. When I spoke to him on the phone he told me the charge for Lap-RNY would be $14,000 and the charge for Lap-Band would be $12,500. He didn't mention any other charges or fees. Thank you, LaVonn

Hi LaVonn: I am not really sure exactly what it covers, I believe it is the nut and any follow ups, support group meetings, etc.  I would think as a self pay you would not have to pay anything additional.  To be honest with you these insurance companies don't pay these doctors what we think they do so they have to make it up somehow.   Dr. JB and his staff are fantastic, my paperwork was submitted to my insurance on Monday and I was approved on Wed.  Good luck with your journey, are you going for the Lap Band or the RNY?  There is a support group meeting at his office tonight from 5:30-7pm, you should try to come. Hi Jackie, Thank you for replying. I couldn't believe the Dr. called me back when I first called his office for quotes. They seem great.  I hope this works out. I originally thought the Lap-Band was for me, but now I'm leaning towards the RNY. I want to talk with the Dr. first.  I would go to the meeting ,but it's to far for my first time going there.  LOL I'm having my husband go with me to the consultation so, I can find out were I'm going.  I used to drive every where. Now that I have kids I'm like a little old lady in the slow lane. LOL LaVonn

Hi LaVonn, I know what you mean about being a little old lady in the slow lane, I've slowed down quite a bit.  I think that we are so busy thinking about everybody else that we forget to think about ourselves.  How old are your kids?  I have 3, Nicole 22, PeterJohn 19 & Britney 16.  They are the Great!!   I know that you will really like Dr. JB and his staff, keep me posted with your progress.
