BCBS of NJ questions.....help

I have BCBS of NJ and I didn't have any problems getting approved, I used DR Bertha  & Abkin.  Joanne from there office is great with paperwork.  I didn't have any documention on my weight  from drs but I did have high cholesteral.  Try a different office and call BCBS and see if their is a social worker you can speak with

I dont understand why everyone else with BCBS has things so easy! urgh!

I have Horizon NJ Plus PPO.   My gastric bypass was approved right away back in 2001.   Back then I think it was not that popular so they approved.  Now they are all getting strict.   In 2005 I had to have a revision and they denied it.   I appealed.   The surgeon wrote a letter.  My PCP wrote a letter.  My appeal was huge with so much research and documentation.  Finally they approved.  It was a long haul.  I had to get doctor notes from every doctor I had seen within the three years from the original surgery.  It was a long process.  I was so lucky to have an advocate in the surgeon's office that went the extra mile to help me.   So don't think you are alone.  It is not easy for everyone.  That is suppose to make you feel better but I know how frustrating it call all be.   Here is wishing you get approved quickly.

My grandmother keeps telling me  "Nothing worth doing is easy"   So I guess this makes my surgery VERY Worthy!!   :)

Is Barix telling you you need this information or is it the Insurance company itself?  Barix does this procedure exclusively so maybe the are asking you to do something that some insurance companies ask for just as a routine.  I had BCBS Horizon HMO and I was approved within 24 hours of submission.  I had a long diet history from my Primary...They did not ask for this, but I submitted my own diet history......There was no requirement though....
