Self Pay

Hi Everyone, My insurance company (Cigna) will not cover my surgery. They say it's an exclusion from my husband's policy.  So, I would have to self pay. My surgeon is Dr. Morris Washington. His office told me it would cost approx. $18,000.00 for the Lap-Band. Has anyone else had to self pay and how much approx. did it cost? Also, if anyone had the Lap-RNY and had to self pay how much did that approx. cost.  Thanks for any help. LaVonn

i think you can have it done for about $12,000.00 for the lap-Band. you should shop around. i recommend dr. jeanBaptiste.see what they say.

Thank you, I will call them.  I've had all the tests done. So, I just have to find a way to pay for the sugery.

I was a self payer for my Lap Band, my BMI was to low, I think it cost me all together about $15,000...The BEST money I ever spent.Most doctors will work with you.... Went yesterday and bought  size 10 jeans from a tight 16...Now that's worth every dime....Best of Luck to you....

Congratulations!  I don't think I've been in a size 10 in about 25 years.
