I'm a Bit Discouraged

I started looking into RNY in Dec. of 2005...then I found out I needed a hysterectomy! Had that done in Feb. of 2006....as soon as I was fully recovered I looked into RNY....so I had to postpone my surgery for a few months...the results were worth it and I got to do even more research that fully prepared me for what I would face!

Hi, Nereida, Most sleep study centers will put you on a cancellation list. They dislike losing a night of work and people do cancel. You have to be "ready to go" but they will call you when someone cancels. It could be for that very night. It could help you get the appointment sooner. Nancy

Hi, Nancy I didn't think about the cancellation list. I think I'm gonna call them and let them know that I'm more than willing to have my test done earlier if anybody cancels. Thanks, Nereida

Hey i know how you feel! i also wanted to have mysurgery done before school started not because i am a techer but because of the fact that i have 3 children and my mother is a teacher...My husband works all day and my mom is the only one around right now to help me.. i kept pushing and pushing  and i got everything done my date is scheduled for Aug 13th.. i live in staten island and i have a great doctor if you don't mind going to staten island he would probably give you the test right away they are great like that.

Hi, Alexandra I guess I won't have my surgery until after school starts. I tried having the test done sooner, but couldn't. My pulmonologist refers all of his patients to that particular location, although there are many other locations in New Jersey. They have me on the cancellation list, but I don't think I'll have the test done any sooner. What really irks me is the fact that I won't see the pulmonologist again until the 24th of August, and depending on what he says, I'll have to schedule another appointment to see my surgeon, again, and I guess my surgeon will take it from there. As of right now, I know my surgery won't be done during the summer. Oh well! Nereida
