the best of luck to you on surgery day :)  only you can answer if this is the right choice for yourself  expect to be uncomfortable for a couple of days - then get up and start walking around and doing for yourself -- this will help with exercise and also to get the anesthesia out of your system -- dont' lay around the house because you 'just had surgery' -- you need to be up and active and walking --this will also help with reducing the risk of blood clots -- eat and drink slowly -- very slowly -- you will be fine :)

take care

Hello, Congrats on your upcoming surgery.  I had my lap band done last september.  I will say, it was not too bad.  The first 3 days were alittle tough, basically hard to get up and down, very tired.  After that it was smooth sailing.  It was the best thing I ever did, im just sorry i waited so long.  Whatever you are expecting to feel after surgery is probably worse than it actually as.  Good luck to you and keep us posted to how it went.   For me it was the right choice, it has changed my life. Hi, Just wanted to welcome you and wish you all the best on your journey, you have made a choice to change your life forever for the best and to live healthier and lighter.  I had the lap-band put in on 3-22 and you can read my profile blogs to follow my progess before and after surgery, so far it has been an amazing period in my life.  I have lost 41lbs since 3-22 and it will never come back, I follow the lap-band guidelines to the T and so far I have had much success.   I was very nervous and excited before surgery, and the biggest thing for me right after surgery was walking walking walking and following the post-op diet.  Please know that you will have to do your part too and watch what your eatting and exercise regularly, the lap-band will not work by itself,  its a tool and you have work to do to, if you understand that before going into it, you will succeed!  The first few day are uncomfortable, gassy and soreness but each passing day gets better, I was walking immediately I had my surgery on a Thursday and was back to work on Tuesday feeling fine.  I was on liquids the first week, muhies the 2nd week and soft foods the 3rd week.  Now  I follow a regular lower carb diet and the weight is coming off, you won't believe how fast you get a full feeling from a small meal, food becomes less of a thought for you and cravings will vanish, you'll see, its an awesome feeling.  I don't feel like I have anything in me and the fills are so easy, a few mins in the office and theres no pain at all.  I realize everyone's outcome is different, so please understand that whet Im saying is my personal journey and Im sharing it with you!  visit the lap-band message board on here, there are wonderful helpful people that will help answer all your concerns.  Keep us posted!  Blessings on your Journey

Congratulations and best wishes to you !!!   I am 6 days post op today and I feel great.  The first two days were rough because of the gas but like everyone says......walk.... walk.... walk.... it really does make you feel better.  Whenever I started to feel really uncomfortable, I would get up and walk around the house.  Just a few minutes all throughout the day really helped. Regards,   Lo

I have just one word of advice for you -- after surgery when they take you down for that swallow studay test, be sure to take a VERY VERY small sip of the stuff.  It gets stuck and clogs like glue.  The tech may not warn you. Lots of luck!
