On Sardines...
I was dying for a snack today around 2:30 pm, so I bought a can of sardines in water. I eat them for the calcium.
Anyone else like them?
I was just crunching on the little bones thinking, yum I actually like this better than Plain Fat Free yogurt.
They're good in mustard sauce too.
I also dig anchovies, but the salt would make my new arms swell up like balloons!
I need to research some recipes.
I just found this one: YUM! Except I would exclude the crackers!
1 can (about 4 3/8 ounces) sardines, with skin and bones 1 T. fresh lemon juice 1 T. grated onion 1/4 t. sea salt 1 T. tahini (unsalted sesame paste, optional) 1 1/2 T. chopped fresh parsley 4 rye crackersFreshly ground pepper
Open the can of sardines partway, and drain out the oil or water. Place the sardines, lemon juice, onion, salt, tahini, and parsley in a bowl, and mash with a for****il well blended. Spread on whole rye crackers, and grind some pepper on top.
