I am going to see Dr. J-B on Firday and I have a $30.00 specialist co-pay, has anyone else had to pay more then that to his office for their initial consult?  Your input would be appreciated.  I would like to know what to expect. Thanks, Jackie

IF YOU ARE SPEAKING OF DR JB A MUHLENBURG HOSP.    HE WILL ONLY CHARGE COPAY FOR HIS VISIT.  BUT I THINK ITS A SEPERATE ONE TIME FEE FOR THE NUTRITIONIST AND NURSE. DR JB IS GREAT.   I HAD MY SURGERY ON 10/4/06.     BLESSINGS BYVONNE

Dr. JB is now charging a program fee up to $2,200 to be paid before surgery. Ask him at consultation to explain in detail.  This is NOT covered by your insurance. If this is something you can afford, he's the man to do your surgery.

What does this program fee consist of? The doctor I'm seeing doesn't charge anything extra. He just charges the $25 copay. Oh, yeah, I have to pay $500 out of pocket for the nutritionist, but I was told that $250 is due on my first visit, and the rest is due on my post op visit. I think I also have to pay for the psychiatric evaluation and I think it costs $120. Nereida

I'm not sure what this includes as there was no program fee when I had my surgery in July 2006. I've just recenly heard about this being implemented since March 1st. People must be proavtive concerning their care.  Ask questions during your consultation so you can make an informed decision.

He does charge and when I went for a consult I ws told $2,500.00.  Half could be paid upfront and the other half at my first post op visit. maxine

He had started this program fee after I had first seen him and started the tests already.  It is worth it, if you have the cash.  Its kind of a rip off in my estimation, and it hurt to have to write that check, but I feel good about the decision so its not that bad.

I just heard about this charge, but to me it's worth it. I had my surgery Jan 8th, and am almost at goal 14 lbs to go, I would ask him what the fee covers when you go...Good luck...

Hi Sharon, I am so excited, they called and moved my appt up I go on Friday.  How long did it take from your consult till surgery?  I hope that I don't have to wait 6 months.  You are doing so great, I can't wait to be there too. Thank, Jackie
