Did anybody have the Duodenal switch by Dr David Breenbaum

HI, I am going to Dr Greenbaum to have the Duodenal Switch done and was just  wondering if anybody else has had this done by Dr Greenbaum on here and could help me to what to look forward to???  Thank you     Eugene

i also go to dr greebaum but I didn't have the duodenial switch.i had the open gastric- bypass.Someone really close to my family had the duodenial done in nov. by dr greenbaum and she is doing great.her name is Linda and she goes to the support group at the hospital.the next meeting is on Monday July 9th at 6 pm.She will be able to talk to you more than I can.All I can say is that he is a great dr.and my life has changed so much since my surgery in Jan.I have lost 115 lbs and all of my pain is gone.I feel so great now.I would do it again anyday.Linda is at most of the meetings and their are other people who go that have had the duodenal done that can talk to you more.I am sorry i can't tell you more but hope this will help.Hope to see you at meeting.Good luck to you.

Thank you for responding. I was just hoping there would be more because 31 viewed . I was at the meeting the Duodenal switch but that was my first time and didn't know what to ask. I go for me Ultrasound Gallbladder test tomorrow and go back to Dr Greenbaum office Friday.  Thanks again for responding   Eugene

Hi .i know it is hurt to remember what to ask when your at the meets and the drs but I have been to about 6 meets and I still forget to ask things until i get home.Did you go to the board for doudenal switch and ask people questions.Everyone is very helpful on this website and there is always alot of support here.I just wanted to wish you luck with ultrasound and I was at drs yesterday for my 6 mt check up and I have lost 114 lbs since Jan.and I feel great now.The first 3 months is the hardest part but after that you will feel great.It is just hurt to get a shedule down with eating and drinking along with meds but once you get that down it become easier.while good luck.

I had the DS with Dr. Greenbaum in September 06.  He is a  great Doctor and you will be in good hands.  I love him.  As a matter fact, this was my secong weight loss surgery with him.  I had a Verticle banded Gastroplasty back in 1992 and he gave me a revision to a DS in September of 06.  Good Luck and you are welcome to email any question or concerns that you may have
