A question
I think any surgeon can probably perform wls but I wouldn't use anyone who didn't have special training in it, especially in laparoscopy. Stick to the doctors mentioned on OH and read testamonials from patients. Go to support groups (they are open to all) and interview at least 3 doctors before you decide. This is your body and you want someone who is skilled, knowledgeable and has a good bedside manner. Find out if the doctor has a comprehensive program and if there is a program fee over and above what the insurance pays. It is important to check into post op care...some doctors give 3 months of visits and then you go back yearly. Evaluate what your needs pre and post op are and choose accordingly. We are here to help you decide!
I have never heard of him. I think you should be as comfortable with your surgeon as you are with yourself because you're going to put your life in his hands. FYI you can also check bariatricedge.com to see if they are board certified. I used a surgeon that is on both OH and bariatric edge. It was important to me that the Doc be a board certified bariatric surgeon. Good Luck in your search!
