I had a tummy tuck/breast lift by Dr. Lalla earlier this year. The results are amazing. I love my new flat stomach and perky breasts. I should mention that I lost 100 lbs about 5 years ago (going from a whopping 250 at the age of 19 to a 150 by age 21). I suffered from alot of self-confidence issues due to the hanging skin all over my body. My body didn't look like that of a girl in her early 20s. After meeting the most fantastic boyfriend, he made it possible for me to finally get the body I've always wanted. He saw how miserable I was after spending hours at the gym EVERYday and seeing NO results. Finally, after months of consults with doctors all over the state of NJ, we decided to go with Dr. Lalla!! I would, hands down, recommend him to anyone considering cosmetic surgery. He was the first "real" doctor we had met who treated me like a person instead of an object that was going to be sliced open. He chose his words carefully all while explaining the surgery, recovery and results in detail. Even after the surgery, Dr. Lalla was never too busy to answer a question or return a phone call. Him and his wife Gina were excellent. I must admit I was scared out of my mind going into the surgery but with their help and genuine concern, I made it through the surgery, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.  If you would like more information about Dr. Lalla or want to know more about the surgery/recovery, please email me at [email protected]. ~Christine Motylinski

Hello  My name is Joanne Caldwell and  I'm having a tummy tuck on September 19th with Dr.Lalla. he and and his wife Gina are wonderful people. Please tell me was it painful, how long were you in the hospital, and did you have to wear a special stomach girdle? And how much skin did he remove I mean how many pounds.

Hey Joanne - First off, let me tell you  .... you are in good hands!! Dr. Lalla & Gina have been wonderful throughout this whole process. I had the surgery over 3 months ago and I know that if I have any questions or concerns, they are quick to answer them or help me.  I'm not going to lie - it was painful (but NOT unbearable). The most pain I experienced was from the muscle tightening (even though it was only tightened alittle bit). I had trouble coughing & sneezing because you are contracting those muscles. I actually ran up a fever since I wasn't able to cough. I would advice you to stay seated up during your recovery. Don't lie down because not only is it harder to get up, but it will also be more difficult to breathe. Obviously, the most painful period was during the first full week. By the second week, with the help of pain medication, I was feeling alot better and loving the fact that I could walk around on my own (ok, maybe it was more like a slow waddle  HAHA)  My surgery was scheduled at 7am on a Wednesday morning - the surgery lasted about 7 hours (but I also had a breast lift and some liposuction done). And then I left the hospital by noon the next day. I'm not sure if you are going to need to stay as long as I did but Dr. Lalla will let you know what he recommends.  I had to wear a huge bind around my stomach for awhile. I still wear the bind to bed and wear tummy control underwear under my clothes. I still don't have sensation in my stomach (my FLAT stomach    hehe) so it makes me feel better wearing something around my stomach. Also the bind was given to me at the hospital and didn't cost anything. It's a simple velcro bind that holds you firmly in place. You'll look bulky for awhile but just know that your stomach is looking good under there! The doctor only removed about 2 lbs of skin. I thought it would have been so much more because once I saw the picture of the "removed skin" on the surgery table it looked like 10 lbs. Granted, I also received liposuction on my sides which created a great shape (more like an hour-glass figure).  Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Good luck with the surgery and I know you'll be just fine!!! Congrats on the weight loss also!!!! ~Christine

I'm glad I could help! I was out of work for 2 weeks and then went in for half days for another week. Thankfully, my company was very understanding with my time off.  I love my flat stomach right now. I feel like a normal 25 year old finally!! I'm still working on the six-pack but I know I'll get there! I was finally able to go back to the gym about a month ago so I'm in the process of getting back into shape. Yes, and please keep me updated on your surgery. I'm here to chat if you want to ask questions or know more about my experience. Take care!! ~Christine
