HELP I NEED A PSYCHIATRIST

IVE BEEN SEARCHING ON LINE IN THE YELLOW PAGES AND CANT FIND ONE THAT WILL TAKE MY INSURANCE TO DO AN EVALUATION FOR GASTRIC BYPASS THE ONLY ONE I FOUND THAT WAS WILLING TO DO IT WAS CHARGING ME 300 DOLLARS AND WOULD NOT  TAKE MY INSURANCE DOES ANY ONE KNOW OF ONE THAT TAKES AMERICHOICE PLEASE I NEED HELP.

hi maria did your surgeon recommend anyone?  i paid $200 out of pocket for my psych eval and that was in philly if you are interested :)

WELL IF I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET IMA HAVE TO DO IT BUT 200 TO SEE THE DOC PLUS WHAT I SPEND ON GOING TO PA AND BACK HOME IT WILL BE THE SAME AS PAYING THAT DOC HERE THE 300 BUCKS BUT THANKS ANYWAYS

most insurance companies have a website, or someone you can call to see if there are any participating providers.  give them a call - they can tell you if there is a website.  Its also possible they don't cover a psych at all. Hope this helps. Jean

HEY I LIVE IN ELIZABETH NJ AND WE SHARE THE SAME INSURANCE AND WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO IS CALL THE INSURANCE AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU SOME # TO CALL THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE EVAL IS COVERD THROUGH THE MEDICAID NOT THEM SO THEY TOLD ME IF YOU CAN FIND SOMEONE WHO TAKES MEDICAID YOU CAN GO THERE AND I BELIEVE THEY HAVE ONE RIGHT AT UMDNJ THE ONLY THING IS I DON'T KNOW IF THEY HAVE SEEN  PTS THAT ARE HAVING WLS
