lapband
Kevin - from what I have been told is that you will loss about half of the weight you need to lose the first year. Lapband is slower then RNY losing weight short term....but in the long term they are about the same. I would suggest looking at both and then choose what you feel is the right WLS for you. Mike
it all depends., i had my lapband done on 3/15/07 and i am down 40 lbs so far.i walk 2 miles a day at least 5 x's a week .everyone is different they say the average is 2-3 lbs a week with the band.it all depends on how much you are willing to work with the band.it doesnt do all the work for you. if you have any questiond feel free to ask

Hey Kevin,
I had my surgery done on 9-11-06 and I am down 80 pounds so far..The first couple of months, it appeared that the weight cam eoff pretty easy..But the last few months, the weight loss slowed down a little, but with daily exercise, the weight loss is consistant..The average for me is 8-10 pounds a month...Good luck Dave
I am not normal at all. I have been called a Freak and at the same Time a Lap Band Poster child.
With that being said, it is possible to loose a lot, if you work hard at it.
With that being said, I am down 120 pounds in less than 7 months since my surgery on 11/10/2006. I was 370 and am now about 252....
The weight loss has slowed down a lot for me over the last weeks---but i do still lose a pound or so a week
I think it really depends on how overweight you were at he time of the procedure. I was 100 over weight and I have lost 30 pounds and I will be a year out 7/12/07. My doctor told me if you have more to lose you will lose it much faster. I workout and follow the diet so I am at a loss, what's your secrets :-).
