Post Op Care
I just want to post this question to see what others have done. I decided to pay to have someone come in my home and help me because I didn't have anyone who was really capable. Has anyone else done this? If you don't mind how much did you pay? I mean the young lady has been fantastic and I am amazed because it was a referral but, I feel like I haven't paid enough or that I should tip or something. I forgot to say what she did.
I didnt even think that would matter, she is a nurse's aide also called a personal care aide in some states. She did basic house hold things like, cook for my family (4) including my 10 month old son. She prepared my pureed foods, gave me menus for when she left to get me through the next week which is this week coming. She is certified to give medicine so she also gave me my heparin shots. Which I would never have given myself. She also gave me a shower. I can't list all the things but she certainly did everything I asked no complaints. I am paying her $400.00 for the week she was there from around 11 am to 6 or 7 whenever my boyfriend came home.

I didn't pay anyone to come out to my house, but I thankfully did have help. I would say that if you feel like she has gone above and beyond then tip her. I am sure that she would appreciate it. A nice letter of reference would also probably be a very nice tip.
Are you able to be alone with your 10 mos old already? When I had my surgery 4/9 my son was 22mos old and I felt totally incapable of being alone with him for almost 3 weeks. Good luck to you.
