Central Jersey Surgeons?

I used Dr. Trivedi in Hackensack.  My surgery was back in August of 2006.   I would highly recommend him, although his office can be slow to communicate with.  I used him because my primary care, Dr. DiStasio, highly recommended him.  I loved him, but understand your need to work with an office that is easier to talk with.  In the long run, it isn't how easy it was to get the surgery though, it's the outcome of the surgery.  Just keep that in mind.  Good luck with your decision. Dr.Jean- Baptiste, he is the director of the Bariatric Surgery Center at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield. He is the best around, I swear by him...His number is 908-226-4200, the office staff is amazing as well, you can't go wrong with him, If I can be of any help just let me know... I second Dr. JB as we call him and I live in Newark, although I'm surrounded by bariatric surgeons here in Northern NJ, none accepted my Cigna healthcare, I love their team approach and support group meetings, perhaps you can join us at the next one...June 19? I think is the date but they always get posted on here.

Dr. V. Mehta was my surgeon, my husbands and mhy daughter.  We had the surgery at Raritan Bay Medical Center.  I am a nurse there and try to visit all of the post op WLS patients.  IF you should choose Dr. Mehta make sure you e-mail me and I will be sure to visit you.  I also facillitate a support group once a month at the medical center.  You are wecomed to attend both pre op and post op. Hi Loretta......I just had my initial appointment with Dr Mehta.......but I have Aetna HMO so I am prepared for a battle. Hopefully i will be approved.  How many lap bands have been conducted at raritan bay? have they been doing it long? I was hoping to have the surgery in New Brunswick and I am a little nervous about doing it in a smaller hospital. Thanks for whatever advice you have.....i hope you enjoy your time away.........Eileen.

Just wanted to share some good information that I heard today.  I had my gastroenterology consultation today and learned that Dr. Borao is the best surgeon in this area for bariatric surgery.  This doc said he sees patients before and after they come thru the bypass (and he recommends bypass over lapband due to numerous problems) and Dr. Borao has an excellent track record.  I didn't have any doubts about Dr. Borao but this really made me feel good about my choice. 

Hi.  I live in Edison and go to Dr. Mehta in New Brunswick on Easton Avenue.  He's been wonderful.  He has seminars on certain Tuesdays of the month at the Hyatt hotel in East Brunswick.  He performs the WLS at Raritan Bay Medical Center and Somerset Medical Center.  He has billboards all over the place, even on the Turnpike. 

I am very happy with Dr. Mehta and would recommend him to anyone.
