HELP - STUCK FOOD

I am almost 4 weeks post-op.  Tonight I had some ground turkey, which  I have been eating for the past week with no problem.  Tonight, I had 2-3 bites and it felt like it was stuck in my chest.  It was painful.  Finally, I threw it up.  After throwing that up, twice I had some water the threw that up too.  Now I am afraid to eat or drink anything.   I called my doctor and after over an hour, I am still waiting for him to call me back.  Anyone experience anything like this?

Kim,  I don't think you had food stuck, it sounds like you ate  too fast. The same exact thing happened to me with soup (which can't get stuck).  My chest got very tight, and I thought I was dying until it came up.   I know it's hard, but try to slow down! Marcie

Nope, definately didn't eat too fast.  I am extremely paranoid about what I eat and how fast.  I only had 3 bites over a 20 minute period.  That's what made me so nervous.

Sounds very, very normal, Try eating smaller bites and eat slower, the best thing to do is throw it up, it definitly got stuck, you probably ate to fast even though you say you didn't. Sometimes you think your not but you are. The best thing to do is after you throw it up  wait a few minutes then drink some hot tea very slow...Good luck, this will happen...
