I had the bypass surgery 1 week ago today (5/16) and went back to Dr. JB yesterday or my 1 week checkup, and Iam already down 30 pounds. Truly amazing. I am having difficulty with keeping up the levels of fluids that I need to drink, and its hard to do the protien shakes as well, but I am trying. I have been reading this board for a few weeks now, but never posted, and I figured I would post now to say hi.
I am truly amazed that everything is going as well as it is thusfar. The only problem I seem to be having is that I feel very tired and just have no energy to do anything, but I assume that I will get better once I start eating actual food rather than nothing...
Glad to join the group and say Hi...
Hey Drew:
Congrats on your new life. Amazing 30lbs loss. You are doing great. You just had major surgery and you will be tired for a while. But it will get better each day. Its hard getting in all the liquids at first, but just keep sipping all throughout the day and your should be fine. I know those sugar free popcycles where my best friend.
You are in good hands with Dr. JB. He is an awesome doctor. Hope to see you at the next support group meeting.
Grace & Peace
Treena
Welcome to the loser's bench!!! As Treena stated... your gonna be tired for awhile. It is normal so dont be alarmed. Dr. JB and his staff are absolutely amazing people. You are in great hands! Your energy level will increase and it will get easier and easier as time goes on to get your fluids in... but again... takes some time. Good luck on your journey ...... Take care... Christine
hi drew and welcome aboard once you start exercising and getting in your proteins your energy level will go up :)

Andrew....My Hospital-Mate!!
I was praying you'd be here once I got back on. Please EM me privately so we can chat ([email protected]).
To everyone else, Andrew and I had surgery the same day and our rooms were side by side. Andrew did 100% better than I did and I was hugely jealous. He walked out of the hospital (one full day before me) looking like he was on his way to a football game!
Welcome to the boards Andrew and I hope you'll get in touch with me.
