Working out

I joined a gym this week (K S Fitness on Hooper Ave in Toms River; I recommend them highly), and met with a trainer yesterday. This gentleman has been a personal trainer for over 20 years, specializes in "total body change," and is the personal trainer for one of the Survivor competitors. I believe he knows what he's doing. He set me up with a workout on the various machines (chest, back, arms, legs, obliques), and we talked about cardio. After going through everything with Adam once, I went back and did the entire circuit again alone, then did 15 minutes on the treadmill - and felt surprisingly fine afterwards. I'm going to go again this afternoon after hospital rounds, and do the entire 2 rep circuit, again followed by 15 minutes on the treadmill - he wants me to get up to 30 on the treadmill on the days I do my circuit, but that seems a bit much to me for the first week! I'm to do the circuit 3 times a week, followed by 30 minutes of treadmill, and 2 days in between, treadmill only for 60 minutes.

Randy~ Congratuations on the gym, that is a great step, one I haven't taken yet. I do walk everyday weekday though, which I have been doing for over 2 years, I am hoping to continue that through the summer and join a gym when it get's cold out again. Group, are you coming back to the support group? We miss you there. We meet again next Monday the 21'st @ Kimball Medical Center (Center for healthy living) from 7:00-9:00pm. Hope to see you there Michelle

I'm going to try. Most days, I'm home long before then, and I'm usually too tired to get up and go back out again. I'm expecting to be increasing my hours in the next month or so, so I'll still be in Ocean County, which makes it easier to stick around for the meeting. Once I get home and take my shoes off, I'm done for the day.
