I had laparascopic lap band surgery on May 01, 2007. It is now May 10th (9 days later). When I take a deep breath, I get pain in both my shoulders. Also, every now & then I get a stabbing feeling in my stomach area & I feel as if I have to burp but then nothing comes out, any ideas?

Could it be your Gallbladder? I know that many people who have WLS have problems after with that??? I would check with your Dr. Good Luck! Amy

Hi sorry to hear your having these pains, shoulder pain is common after surgery and has been reported to last a few weeks and suddenly go away, some people get it and others do not, but the stabbing pain your having doesnt sound normal, it is possible to feel a pulling sharp pain at times and that can be the stiches healing in place, but please call your surgeons office and explain to them exactly what you are feeling. Hope all goes well! Blessings on your journey! Maria

I''m a week out and having pain when breathing which seems to also be pinching a nerve that goes to my neck/left shoulder.  I'm fiinding that I just take short breaths because full ones are too painful. Nothing in my stomach though.  Incision is healing pretty well.  Let me know if your pains in the shoulder/chest are gone yet.  I know they can last for a while but I'm sick of it!
