I am only one week post-op, but know that I will eventually "be on food" (although that sounds a little off-putting, doesn't it?) I am looking for any information on kosher products that anyone on the board has used, especially things like shakes (powder and rtd), protein bars, other protein-rich prepared foods. Thanks, cyndi 1 week post-op

hi cyndi congrats on your surgery i have no clue whether some of these products are kosher or not, but then again im not observant. prob. your best bet would be to check with the manufacturer of a product you want to use and see if its considered kosher. good luck, jacki

That's what I usually do, Jacki, thanks. I was just wondering if there was anyone on this board that kept kosher and has gone through this before me. I appreciate your responding. cyndi

Hi Cyndi! You sound great...congrats on your (so) recent surgery! I'm not Jewish, but I needed to find diet Kojel (Kosher jello) due to vegetarianism. I contacted my local synagogue *****ferred me to a Shop Rite a couple of towns over that had a huge Kosher department. I so wished I'd found this prior to scheduling this surgery---or then again, maybe it's best I hadn't LOL Try the Temple and see if that helps! Good luck. Lisa

Thanks, I have all the guides for the kosher food - I keep kosher on a daily basis. But I wanted to find out about the products that all of us need to eat, in terms of protein shakes, bars, etc. that were not, before the surgery part of my diet. That's what I'm looking for. Thanks for your suggestions! cyndi

I suggest that you just keep searching all the vitamin websites. I have found a few that have a kosher section. I hope that helps!

Cyndi, Mazel Tov on the surgery. There is a wealth of info on the "Jewish" board here at OH. I found that most of the protein shakes are hekshered but dairy. Finding pareve stuff was tough but manageable. Finding Pesadich was impossible in my area but depending on where you are located you might have more luck. Feel free to email me privately anytime.
