another surgery
ok everyone
so ross was supposed to see dr kirkland next monday for hernia repair surgery -- this was diagnosed by our PCP a couple of weeks ago -- he decided today in work that his body didn't want to wait anymore -- and i took him to the ER over at Penn Hosp -- they decided to keep him and he'll be having surgery sometime tomorrow -- he's such an impatient person --
this is where education and research come in handy -- our WLS dr. kirkland is also a gastro/intentinal surgeon -- so we can use him instead of trying to find a surgeon who isn't afraid of someone who has had WLS -- alot of surgeons won't touch someone who has had WLS because of the new plumbing of the intestines
ross should be out of work for a week -- we'll see
another may -- another surgery -- guess we'll spend our anniversary at home again this year -- we did plan on driving out to the football hall of fame -- guess i'll cancel the hotel -- oh well -- surgery is more important
take care all
roberta

Awwww, Roberta! I'm so sorry you have to change your plans - but just do that - change them, don't cancel them. When Ross is feeling up to it, take a quick weekend away and celebrate your anniversary.
I hope his surgery goes well and he is soon feeling much better. Thank goodness your surgeon will do the surgery. I'm in a bit of a predicament with regard to this, as the surgeon who did my obstruction surgery doesn't want to tackle me again unless it's an emergency, and none of the WLS docs down here will take me on since I've already had "complications". I love my WLS doc, but I didn't give very much thought to how far away he is if I run into an emergency.
And you can make the day of your anniversary a romantic one at home! Light lots of candles, warm up a little oil, and let the anniversary fun begin

Dear roberta
please give ross my best. Glad he is getting it taken care of.
It must have bothered him at work, yes? Was it painful for him?
I too have another hernia, it was found after lapband, when I was
in the hospital for another 7 days due to infection in my port
incision. It was "staph", msra.... To be exact.
So I will see when I will take care of mine. Not bothering me right
now.
I have not been on this forum in a while. Been on the lapband forum
trying to learn. But I never forget my new jersey friends.
Take care,
tell him to feel better.
P.S. My husband and son went to the "football hall of fame" last
aug. To see the induction of reggie white. They had a great time,
and very close by is the "rock n roll" hall of fame, which my husband
really enjoyed, but said their was a lot to see, and wants to go back
again.
Both of you take care
