I'm New and Scheduled for Lap Band

Hi Everyone I am new to the board. I have scheduled Lap Band Surgery with Dr. Abkin on May 21st. I am waiting for insurance approval. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. Would appreciate any info and support Ronnie

Hey Ronnie- I am also getting the band with Dr Abkin. My surgery date is 5/22! I am also very excited and nervous. After 3 years of insurance problems, I am electing to be a self-pay patient. What insurance do you have?

Hi Jessica Well we are a day apart. We will have to correspond with each other. I have Blue Cross. I hear they are a good insurance to have. Are you going the preop class on the 17th? Maybe we can chat. I live in East Hanover, are you local? Ronnie

Hi Amy Great news about your husband. I have heard all good things about Abkin and Bertha. I just hope my insurance approvel goes through without any glitches. My BMI is just 40 and I am basically quite healthy. Your surgery is scheduled on my birthday, a great day.... Good luck to you. We are on our way to a new beginning. Ronnie

Ronnie, How funny. You are scheduled on my daughters 4th birthday. What ins do you have? I also am just around 40 bmi & have NO other heath issues. I have already been approved on the 1st try. Good Luck. Keep me posted. Amy

Amy: I have Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. I understand thats pretty good. I am waiting for my PCP to write a letter, I will have my blood work done tomorrow. I feel like I am starting a new chapter. Thats pretty funny that you are scheduled on my Birthday, and I am on your daughters. May 20th, the day before is my son's birthday. So I guess that will be my last desert for awhile. I have three sons, *****ally dont see me as fat. My husband is very supportive, and I have now told my sister, who has been great. I have not shared it with anyone else. Accept the entire OH Board. HA HA. I need the support. Ronnie
