heartburn/chest pains? someone help????

i have been on prevacid for over a week now with acid reflux. the pains get sooo bad though, on my left side of the chest? anyone have any answers for this? nothing seems to help. it does go away for a short period of time but finds its way back rather quickly? what can it be? anyone ever experience this?

Hi Denise. If you have been on this medication for a week and it's not helping you I would call your doctor. The pains you are experiencing may not be related to your acid reflux, they may be cardiac related. I certainly don't want to alarm you but it's better to be safe than sorry. Give your physician a call and see what he/she thinks. I hope you feel better soon....let us know Judy

i will call my surgeon tomorrow if i can deal with the pains through the night. i had lap- band surgery back in march and wasn't sure if it could have been related to that...band slippage? or anything? wasn't to sure of any signs of that or if there are any symptoms to slippage? thanks for your help!
