heartburn it is killing me has anyone gone thur this if so can you tell what it is like it is bad i have lots of pain then i eat and it goes away plese help

Check with your surgeon. You might be starting an ulcer. I just read that ulcers are one of the disadvantages of RNY. Your surgeon may put you on Prilosac or Nexuum to help you out.

Hi - my doctor had me on prilosec for the 1st 6 weeks after surgery. When I start to feel like I'm getting heartburn again I put myself on it for about 2 weeks and it seems to go away.

Hello Frank:
I also started on Prilosec OTC (buy at Costco - best price) immediately following surgery ... I am almost a year out and have never had a problem and continue to take Prilosec every AM. Talk to your Doctor ... but no script is required.
