Zandy~ If they have sugar I would say no for sure. Even if they are sugar free, they have no nutritional value do they? I would think they would be very dry too, much too hard for your new pouch to process. Dry foods are very hard for me to digest, and I am almost 8 months out. Michelle Brennan

hey zandy we eat wheat thins -- all flavors ritz crackers quaker rice cakes -- all flavors cheez-its -- all flavors when you buy a bag or box also get some snack bags -- break them down into the appropriate serving sizes -- that way you are not tempted to eat the whole bag haha i'm also one of the people who will eat the crackers while drinking something we are constantly on the road and we will stop at Wawa and get some grapes or a banana -- or stop at walmart and get a south beach diet meal replacement bar or cereal bar -- stop at a large grocery store and grab a dannon lite & fit yogurt or dannon carb & sugar control yogurt -- we carry plastic spoons in the glove box of the car -- we try to stay prepared i'm almost 5 months out and my husband is almost 11 months out i have had 1 glass of regular pepsi -- i don't care to have another one -- it didn't make me sick or anything -- i just realized i wasn't missing anything i have had 3 milky way bars -- again -- i'm not missing out on anything no one is going to call the OH police on you BUT, remember WHY you had this surgery and don't over-do anything!! good luck roberta

Hi Zandy, It sounds as if you are trying different foods. If I can just offer my advice, the first few months are really a good time to take advantage of the healing process. It will also be the time that you will lose your most weight. Take it easy on your pouch as it is so newly formed. You will have time to be introducing foods as the months go on. Just so you don't feel as if you are alone, I had to have a family member come to my house and take all my cash and credit cards. As it turns out Pizza Hut was running a massive campaign and I wanted everything on that commercial. Being a Phillie girl we all know that Pizza Hut is usually a last resort but I wanted it. I was 4 months out before I finally had a slice of real pizza. Hang in there and keep your self busy. This is a training time. Even though you might think it is just animal crackers they could open the door for trying a choco chip cookie, etc. Take advantage of your honeymoon period. Best of luck to you. Jeanne

HI Jeanne Trying different stuff yea, but not out of control either. I just started to introduce breads to my diet, 1 english muffin i tried, and it was wheat and light, and multigrain, and it went down well. and i can't finish the whole muffin either. i just wanted to see what else stuff i can, since my nutrionist said i can have wheat thins, and im like well animal crackers are dry and hard, so i figured i'd ask before hand. i am being good, im trying my hardest, thanx for the advise, and no i havent had no fast food, nothing like that, no cravings because if i do i usually am hungry or do for a snack, and drink water! thanx again! Zandy

Wheat thins have high fructose corn syrup aka SUGAR. Triscuits are a healthier choice.

Hi Zandy - I've had animal crackers when I needed a crunch. They arent that bad - would'nt make it a habit - but in a pinch..... they could work.( I'm 3 mos out from surgery.) serving size 16 crackers calories 120 fat 2g sugar 7g protein 2 I have yet to even come close to eating 16 at one time. Usually 5 at most satisfies my urge for crunch. Good luck - Marta
