Hi, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Craig and I will be 2 weeks post op tomorrow. Right before my surgery I weighed 376lbs. This morning I weighed in at 348 lbs. I have been investigating and thinking about this surgery for around 6 or 7 years, well finally all the pieces fell into place and I got the surgery. I'm glad I did it, but if you asked me the first 48 hours after surgery I wouldn't have reccomend it to my worst enemy, it was hell. I'm a lot better now. My main problem is I can't tolerate cold water or drinks, therefore I'm not really hydrating as I should, even room temperature water gives me cramps, but I will deal with it. It's kind of freaky not feeling hungry or full I don't even want to eat most of the time, but I do because I should. My head is my worst enemy, all I think about is what I want to eat or what I can't eat anymore. Anyway sorry to blather on.

hi craig, congratulations on having your surgery, the biggest step is over and you are now on the losing side!!! take one day at a time, drinking is hard in the beginning, just take very small sips and take them frequently. room temp is better, even for me and im 8 months out. have you tried crystal light or decaf tea?? that may work better for you right now. i drank lots of decaf tea with splenda my first few weeks, i drank it kinda room temp not hot. the head we all deal with, just do what you know you should be doing and im sure you will be fine. anytime you want to chat, just post or drop a line, continued good luck, jacki

hi craig and welcome aboard my husband went thru the depression of not being able to eat things again -- but he found out as time went on that he can eat foods that he thought he could't -- his head was his worst enemy too -- he also regretted the surgery in the first 48 hours i was the opposite -- it doesn't bother me not to eat certain foods -- i could care less we all go thru things with this surgery and we all get thru things as time goes on drink anything sugar free -- put it into smaller cups so that it's not overwhelming -- don't beat yourself up -- just take everything one day at a time Ross's weight the day of surgery was 373 on 05/22/06 size 54 pants size 4X shirt his current weight is 209 as of 4/10/07 Size 36 pants size L shirt you will be fine the best of luck to you and know that we are all here for you and your journey Roberta
