Paying for surgery

I won't bore everyone with the details of why my start in this journey has lasted almost 9 months, but unfortunately, it has. When I first saw my surgeon, it seemed that my surgeon would only require what my HMO paid for the surgery--- providing they approved my surgery, of course. Now, time has elapsed and it seems that my insurance company is coming up short for my surgeon and I will be required to pay a portion of my surgery up front. Unfortunately, I pay for my insurance out of pocket (individual rate of $470.00/month) and cannot come up with additional cash. I don't have the type of job that affords me "over-time" and even my surgery will require unpaid time off from work. My surgeon doesn't have a payment plan option and I'm afraid I'm at the end of the line here. Other than savings, which I do not have, nor family to borrow from....I'd love to hear how others have paid for their surgery. Is there a loan company that covers medical needs? If you prefer to write me privately, I'd be more than happy to receive your E-mail. Thanks in advance. Lisa

http://www.carecredit.com and http://creditmedical.com Are two websites I have come accross from this board. Additionally, my surgeon has an arrangement with Capital One for loans. Perhaps your surgeon has something similar.

You could alway try a different surgeon.

Excellent suggestion...try another surgeon, one who will work tiredlessly to get you approved!! But I did some research prior to my surgery 'just in case' and 'capitolone' the credit card company has loans for medical procedures. Good luck with that!
