Hi all, I need some suggestions on how to break through this plateau I am on. I have been looking at the same number on the scale for the past few weeks and it is getting frustrating. I want to be 100lbs down by my one year surgical anniversary which is on May 9th. I have 9lbs to go. So if any one has any suggestions let me know. Thank you. Amy

How many calories are you consuming each day? Depending on that, weird as it seems, you may have to up it a bit to convince your body you're not starving. If I had more info, I could provide more concrete suggestions. Nannette

Nannette, Thank you for your reponse. If I actually sat down and wrote everything down I'm thinking that I may be over in calories. However, it depends on the day as well. There are some days when I could care less if I ate and then there are days when I feel as if that is all I do. I work nights and that doesn't help much either. Sometimes I graze all night, I know that is a no no but it is hard to break the habit, but I'm trying. Amy

Hi Amy, I've plateau for about a month and a half. After talking to my nutritionist ( I felt like I was in confession), I realized that I was starting to get into a comfort zone as I was eating foods that I shouldn't have been eating as well as slacking on my exercise. I literally went back to basics. I drink a protein shake for breakfast and have solid food for the remainder of my meals and snacks. I also started back on the exercise track and drink more liquids as well. Since going back to basics, the scale is finally moving again. I would suggest tracking down what you eat as well as physical activity to see what you are doing. Sometimes we think that we are doing well, but when we see it in writing, the numbers are way off than what we thought. Carla
