Good Morning All!!! I want to know if anyone has changed surgeons after getting approved. I have found the money art of this process to be most taxing. But I found a comparable surgeon who is equally as good as the first. I don't knwo if I should just say to hell with the cost I am saving my life or and this is a big OR go with the one who will save my life and my purse? any feedback is always welcomed

Good Morning MG~ You do have a big decision to make here, put your health first. That is the best advice I can give you. IF you like both doctors equally, and they both have good reputations, then I would go with the one who was going to save me some money. I am just a shopper at heart! Who is the new doctor you are considering? Maybe if you put both names "out there" you will get some honest feedback from people who know both of their reputations? I don't know much about Dr. Mehta. I used Dr. Trivedi in Hackensack and I loved him. You do have a decision to make, but I think we need more information to help you out with it. I don't know much about the doctor you have chosen, but I sure others here will have more advice than myself. Good luck with your decision. Michelle Brennan

Thank your for such fast feedback the first surgeon is Dr. Mehta and wants 4,500 down when we get a surgery date. The second is Dr Jean-Baptiste and they want nothing because they participate with the insurance and will bill me after the fact. I have a $3,000 limit then the insurance will pay 100%. They have also approved me to pay the doctor at the in-network level of benefits because he is out-of-network and they have no surgeons in my area. Although the second surgeon is further away I don't think I mind.

Dr Jean Baptiste has an excellent reputation. I know several people who have used him and think he's tops. Good luck. Nannette

MG~ My vote is the same as Nannette's. Dr. Jean Baptiste is an excellent doctor. I don't want to say anything negative on here about any doctor I don't know personally..... but I would definitely go with him. I have heard wonderful things about him Michelle Brennan

I too changed from Dr. Mehta once I was approved. Once I found Dr. Jean Baptiste my co pay was nothing! it would have been over $,4,000 had I stayed. Good Luck Robin A.
