Any suggestions on how to get some of the bigger pills down?

I bought a pill splitter, and that helped when I had to swallow some of the bigger ones in the beginning. My stepmom also gave me a small mortar and pestal so I could crush up some things - but mix then good in something before you try that - nasty stuff!

i Mark, Hope your feeling well. I went to CVS and bought a combination pill spliter/crusher and it works great, I can easily swallow the split bigger pills and have even crushed them and mixed them with jello, but I prefered splitting them. Good Luck !

Just a word of caution: Check with your pharmacist before splitting or crushing any pills! It is NOT safe to do so with everything, but they can let you know! Wendy

For bypass patients, you are supposed to avoid any time-release preparation; almost all regular-release medications can be crushed or split. This warning does not apply to LapBand patients, who CAN use time-release pills.
