Information of Gastric sleeve
I will be getting the Gastric Sleeve sometime the end of april-may- from Dr. Washington in freehold - centre state hospital is anyone out there that has gone through his office and had the gastric sleeve done. At this time I am scared and excited. I have been on salad and shakes for a month now and lost 25 lbs. but i cheat here and there and this is hard i also went on vacation in the middle of feb and lost 6.8 lbs on vac i was proud of myself. I just want to be healthy I can't believe i am in this situation and I know that this is probably the hardest thing to do, but i know its the right way to go, cause I want to start loving my self from the heart and this is the first step. Had the sleeve with dr Washington. ..on Feb 5th. , actually Dr. Dobruskin assisted. She is wonderful too.
I lost 2 lbs a day for the first 12 days home, so amazing to loose so much so fast. Then stalled. and I am down about 30 lbs so far.
Don't be scared..nothing to really be scared of..... I was petrifed. ..all for nothing. This is THE safest surgery to have. Mortality rate is like zilch! The hospital staff was also terrific. I found the worst part to be drinking the barium swallow for the leak test, it tastes horrible....I wish someone warned me...so I'm just warning you so you know what to expect.
Don''t bring much with you either. Wear comfortable, loose clothes going and the same outfit coming home. bring one clean panties, one pair clean socks, and perhaps one of your own night gowns. Do bring chap stick, and your own pillow. They give you everything you need, even chap stick but the real stuff is better, so bring your own.
