News of the Day
1. I got weighed today - down another 4.1 lbs, for a total of 26.5 lbs in 3 weeks.
2. I have a part-time job lined up, as soon as we can arrange malpractice insurance. One of my colleagues from the hospital is swamped with patients, and invited me to help her out half-time. Since her practice is in one of the Shore towns (and is the only adult medical practice on the island), she gets even busier in the summer, and said she will probably want me full-time by then. If things work out well, she said, by the end of the summer we may be talking partnership. For now, at the rate she quoted me, and forgetting about the excess taxes I've been paying, I'm expecting a $600-700 per month post-tax pay cut. I can absorb that for a couple of months! Once I go to full time, we'll renegotiate to a salary, instead of an hourly rate.

GREAT NEWS! Good job.
I used to go to a doctor in Lavallette, I think she was the only one on the island, could it be the same Doctor? It's a teeny weeny office right on Hwy. 35? Ocean Adult Medical, it might not be come to think of it, because they have an office in Whiting too I think.
Whatever, wherever, whomever it is..... they are lucky to have you! Best of luck in your new venture.

Hey Randy:
Glad to hear that you are doing well ... congrats ... how are you feeling otherwise post surgery? Any depression lingering or are you feeling better?? I hope that all is well with you and wish you a lot of luck. Maybe you will make the Friday Toms River meeting? Hope to see you then and happy losing!
Michael
I really just had that one day of tears, and that was all. I'm still learning what I can and can't eat, and how much. Solid meats, even chicken, are still too dense, no matter how well chewed, and won't stay down. Stuff made from ground meat, however, is tolerated well, as are both salmon and shrimp - I made some poached salmon and had it with a creamy horseradish sauce, and I made a turkey meatloaf, both of which are keeping me going this week!
I'm planning to make the meeting in 2 weeks, barring anything unforeseen.
