popcorn

Silly question..I had the lap band done on 3/12/07..In a month I will get the first adjustment...Is it ok to eat popcorn???

I am able to eat popcorn, as long as I chew really well...I never had any popcorn stuck or anything like that...So as long as you are on a regular foods, I think popcorn should be ok....good luck Dave

i had RNY not lapband, but dont u have to watch your diet in the first few weeks also?? popcorn is not easy to digest on a good day. well good luck, jacki

Kenny, I had the same question when I first had my Lapband done, I wouldn't eat popcorn to early, you are only a week out and it will get stuck. You should wait at least 5-6 weeks before you go ahead and eat it. I eat it now but not all the time, It depends on the day for me, one week it's ok and then another time it will get stuck. thanks...the doctor called me and told me that the stomach is still wide open and that the adjustment is not after a month after surgery..im not gonna eat the popcorn but is weird how the band is not adjusted at all right now..because i was wondering why was it that when i drink liquids i dont feel any nausea or throw up and i didnt know why until they told me that the band is just around the stomach but is not filled up...Science is very tricky
